Debra Sterling (right), Project Coordinator for our SNUG Violence Prevention Program, recently met with Governor Andrew Cuomo when he announced new legislation aimed at helping educators prevent school shootings. The Red Flag bill will allow family members, teachers, and other school administrators to seek a court order temporarily preventing a person at serious risk of injuring themselves or others from possessing, purchasing, or attempting to purchase a firearm.
