Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote a goal of self-sufficiency by broadening the minds of children, revitalizing communities, and assisting families and children in need through the provision of services and to coordinate available federal, state, local and private resources.

Congratulations to Marvin Smith, a part-time employee here at EOC of Suffolk, for being chosen by Newsday as one of Long Island’s “unsung Black heroes.” Marvin helps young people pursue a productive life upon reentering the community from a juvenile center. A role model for at-risk youth, we’re so very proud to have Marvin as a part of our team.

Our SNUG Street Outreach program in Wyandanch has received significant support from the state, as featured in a recent Newsday article! This funding boost of $698,807 marks a new chapter in our journey to combat gun violence. It's not just about the numbers; it's about real change in our community.

Students from EOC of Suffolk's Bellport Empire Afterschool Program had the incredible opportunity to visit Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in Upton! BNL is a renowned U.S. Department of Energy facility, focusing on research in areas like nuclear and high energy physics, energy science, environmental bioscience, nanoscience, and national security! Fun fact: seven Nobel Prizes have been awarded for work done at BNL! It was an inspiring and educational experience for our future scientists!

Lt. Governor Antonio Delgado (center) engaged in a productive roundtable discussion at the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island as they seek to address regional challenges and push for streamlined state investments and service delivery. The council emphasized the need for collective advocacy to amplify their voices and bring attention to critical issues affecting the Long Island community.

Meet the inspiring Keith Caputo, a 36-year-old from Center Moriches, NY with Down's Syndrome. As founder of Helping Makes U Happy, Inc., Keith has raised over $70,000 to support his community. Known as "The Mayor" and "Coach Keith," he embodies kindness and dedication. From organizing events to working on a graphic novel about a helping hero, Keith's unwavering spirit is contagious. We're incredibly proud to support him through our Self-Direction services as he continues to make a difference in the lives of those around him.
